DescriptionThere are three current sockets on the vehicle: one is located in the centre of the dashboard in the ashtray, one is always in the dashboard in front of the passengers and the third is located in the luggage compartment. The front ashtray is lit up when the side lights are on; it houses a standard type current socket; the socket ring nut is also lit up when the side lights are on. The front socket contains the cigar lighter resistance, which can be used for connection to other instruments or equipment (provided they operate on 12 V). To operate the cigar lighter, simply press the knob: after a few seconds it pops out automatically, ready for use.The other two current sockets are exactly the same. The power sockets all have a heat protection device: if devices with high energy absorption are connected, this protection cuts off the supply. The circuit for the current socket/cigar lighter is protected by a specific fuse and is controlled by a relay located in the junction unit. The other current sockets, on the other hand, are protected by a special fuse and are controlled by the optional services relay; both are located next to the junction unit. The sockets are only supplied when the ignition is switched ON.768
| 767Do not connect equipment more powerful than 180 W (15A absorption). |

Functional description The cigar lighter current socket P50 is supplied to pin 2 from the line for relay R1: the line is controlled by the ignition INT/A and protected by fuse F15: both are located in the junction unit B1. The supply for the relay R1 comes from the direct line of the maxifuse J/B1 of B5, whilst the coil is supplied by the line (INT/A) protected by the fuse B26. Pin 1 for the socket P50 provides the earth. The ring nut for the current socket is lit up (at pin 3) with the side lights on by means of the line coming from the steering column switch unit H5 switch and is protected by the fuse F2 of the junction unit ( See E2010
SIDE LIGHTS / NO. PLATE LIGHTS ). As far as the other currents sockets P51 and P52 are concerned, they are supplied at pin 2 via the line for the relay J61. This is supplied by the maxifuse J/B2 line of B5, whilst the coil is supplied by the line controlled by the ignition (INT/A) protected by the fuse B27. The supply for the two current sockets is then protected by the specific fuse B15.
