Description - ELECTRIC STEERING LOCK - Fiat STILO 1.2 16v da 07/03 a 12/03
The Passive-Entry and Easy-Go system allows the management of the vehicle protection, entry into the passenger compartment and engine starting. The system described for access to the passenger compartment and engine starting that allows the customer to enter the vehicle and start up the engine without using the key, simply by carrying a CID.When the driver approaches the locked vehicle with their CID (e.g. in their pocket), pulls the handle and the system automatically recognizes them, unlocking the doors and switching off the alarm. ..Once seated in the driver''s seat, the driver presses a button in the dashboard and the system enables engine starting by recognizing the CID.To exit, press the button again and the engine is switched off.The entire usage cycle for the vehicle consequently takes place without the need to use a key, either for opening/closing the vehicle (remote control function) or for switching the engine on/off (ignition key function). There is no longer an ignition lock barrel in the vehicle but a button in the dashboard for the key on and key off and starting the vehicle. As there is no longer a mechanical key, the steering lock function is achived electrically by means of a unit integrated with an electronic control unit connected to the CAN.The search for the CID for opening the doors takes place by means of 5 external aerials, the one for the starting enablement takes place by means of 3 internal aerials.
Operational description - ELECTRIC STEERING LOCK - Fiat STILO 1.2 16v da 07/03 a 12/03
The electric steering lock control unit M89 (present if there is no ignition key/switch) controls and regulates the entire electrically controlled steering column locking system. The ignition switch H1 connectors are connected to the control unit M89, while the electric steering lock is incorporated in the actual control unit. The direct power supply for the control unit M89 arrives from the battery via the power supply for the ignition switch H1. Pin 9 of M89 is earthed. The control unit M89 is connected via the CAN - pins 1 and 7 - to the other nodes, in particular the Body Computer M1 and to the Passive Entry control unit M64.The starting button H2 sends a control signal to the control unit M89, pin 3, whilst the reference earth is sent from pin 11 and the button lighting signal is sent from pin 12.The clutch pressed signal arrives from the switch I31 (or, on versions with a robotized gearbox, from the starting enablement switch on the brake pedal I34) at pin 8 of M89, thereby excluding preventing starting if the clutch is not pressed. The Passive Entry RF aerial P99 is connected to pins 19 and 40 of M64; it manages the GARAGE function when the CID battery is run down.
