The front courtesy light and the centre courtesy light have three lamps with three control switches:- the corresponding spot light can be switched on using external switches;the centre switch can be used to switch the centre light on or off and the switching on is also subject to a delay timer ("courtesy lights" mode) as described below. There is only one bulb in the rear courtesy light which can be switched on or off using the relevant switch or through a delay timer as described below. The lighting of the courtesy lights is timed and they are switched on and off gradually, with an operating logic managed by the body computer:- when the doors are unlocked using the remote control or turning the key in the lock, all the centre and spot lights come on. Their operation is subject to a delay timer: if the doors are not opened, the lights go out gradually after a few seconds;- when the remote control door locking button is pressed for a while ("location" function) all the interior courtesy lights together with the direction indicators come on for a few seconds;- when the key is turned to position S the front courtesy light comes on. Their operation is subject to a delay timer: the lights go out gradually after a few seconds;- when one of the front doors is opened the centre courtesy light and the courtesy lights in the doors come on, but not the spot lights. Their operation is subject to a delay timer: a few seconds after the doors are closed, the lights go out gradually;- when the engine is started up the lights go out gradually a few seconds later;- when one of the rear doors is opened, the centre light comes on without the spot lights. Their operation is subject to a delay timer: a few seconds after the doors are closed, the lights go out gradually;- when the tailgate is opened the courtesy light(s) in the luggage compartment comes on (one or two depending on the trim level). They go out gradually when the tailgate is closed.
The courtesy lights in the passenger compartment come on in "courtesy light" mode dependent on the opening of the door. The opening of the front doors is signalled via the switch incorporated in the locks N050 and N051.When the door is opened, the (normally closed type) switch provides an earth signal at pin 4 (left front door) and pin 5 (right front door) from pin 1 (pin 6 for versions with child locks) for connector L of the body computer node M001.Having received the signal, the body computer node M001 (pin 25 connector L) sends the command to the front courtesy light G010 (pin 4 connector A).The opening of the rear doors is signalled by specific switches: I018 for the left rear door and I019 for the right one.Depending on the rear door that is opened, an earth signal is sent (from pin 1 of I018 or I019) to the Body computer node M001 (pin 34 or pin 33 of connector L respectively).Having received the signal, the body computer node M001 (pin 29 connector L) sends the power supply to the courtesy light G011 (pin 4).For operation in manual mode, the Body computer node M001 provides a direct power supply (pin 20 connector I) for the front courtesy light G010 (pin 2 connector A) and for the rear courtesy lights G011 and G012 (pin 2).The various lamps can be switched on manually using the switches in the courtesy lights G010, G011 and G012.
