DescriptionA Blaupunkt radio, with a built-in GSM cellular telephone, called"RADIOPHONE", is available as an optional extra. (r)The radio is the same size as a regularradio console. The "RADIOPHONE" may be usedas a radio when not using the phone or waiting for a call. The telephone system (the keyboardon the Radiophone allows the desired number to be dialled) has thefollowing features:GSM type equipment;SIM card (which also acts as a KEY CARD);incoming number identification;debit indication. The complete system consists of:two separate aerials (one for the radio and one for thephone): the first is the aerial normally built into the rear windowfor the standard radio set. The second is a special aerial locatedat the rear in the middle of the roof.phone microphone, located on the interior rear view mirrorbaseseparate front power and tweeter speakers, located inthe doors;special "twin cone" right front speaker (usedby both the radio and the telephone);rear speakers, located in the doors;rear speakers on the rear parcel rackleads connecting the radio to the speakers; The radio circuit is supplied both withthe ignition key in the ON position and directly from the battery. The above two lines are protected by a fusein the junction unit.In addition to the radio there is also asupply with the side lights on to light up the radio controls.Full details of the specifications and theoperation of the RADIOPHONE are given in the "OWNER'S HANDBOOK".
Functional description The radio P20 is supplied directly (pins 4 and 7 of connectorA) by the battery via the line for fuse F10 of junction unit B1 andmaxifuse J/B1 of B5 up to 2/99 or B99 from2/99. It receives a supply when the ignition isswitched on (INT) (pin 3 of connector A) via the line for fuse F1 ofthe junction unit B1 . With the side lights switched on, the supplyreaches pin 6 of connector A by means of the line coming from theswitch for the steering column switch unit H5 , protectedby the controls illumination fuse B11 up to 2/99 or fuse F4 of theadditional fuse box B98B from 2/99; the radio controls aretherefore lit up when the lide lights are switched on. Pin 8 of connector A, on the other hand,is earthed ( C20 ). Pin 5 of connector A is connected to thecontrol unit P22 , which controls the aerial built into theheated rear windscreen (radio operation). The control unit P22 isthen connected to the radio by means of the specific aerial lead. Connector B sends out cables carryingsignals to the speakers:pins 5 and 6 to the left front speakers P35 and P45 ,pins 3 and 4 to the right front speakers P36 and P46 ,pins 7 and 8 to the left rear speakers P30 and P40 ,pins 1 and 2 to the right rear speakers P31 and P41 .Connector C, specific to this RADIOPHONEversion, is connected from pins 11and 12 - by a special screenedcable - to the microphone, located in the interior rear view mirror.

Follow these precautions.769On batteries with an opticam hydrometer, electrolyte level and battery charge status can be monitored qualitativelyby examining the indicator colour:a light, bright colour indicates low electrolytelevel: top up with distilled water;a dark colour without a green area in thecentre indicates that the electrolyte level is correct but chargeis low: recharge the battery;a dark colour with a green area in themiddle indicates that both electrolyte level and charge status arecorrect: no action is necessary. For more details 3238420See subassembly5530 CURRENT GENERATOR . 768Proceed as follows.Check the battery voltage without loadusing the test device recommended by the Service outlets (e.g. 'MICRO360').Depending on the voltage values measured, which define the state of charge of the battery, proceed as follows: If the voltage without load is less than12.10 V, replace the battery ( 32384295530B10battery - r+r ). If the voltage without load is over 12.10V but less than 12.50 V, recharge the battery ( 32384305530B14battery - recharge ). If the voltage without load is over 12.50V, the battery is efficient. If necessary, top up the electrolyte asfollows.Carefully remove the cap strip.Top up with distilled and deionized water, taking care not to allow electrolyte to splash out.768
