The rear wiper control is activated by turning the three-position wheel anticlockwise:- stable central position, equivalent to OFF;- 2 unstable positions: rear wiper activation and rear washer activation.The rear wiper is controlled by the stalk intermittently with an interval of 5 seconds between the end of one stroke and the beginning of the next.The motor is activated throughout the duration of the command and until the brush is reparked.767With the windscreen wipers working, if reverse gear is engaged, the rearscreen wiper is automatically activated: this function is managed by the Body Computer, which receives information from the reversing switchPushing the right steering column switch unit lever activates the rear washing. Keeping the lever pushed for more than 0.5 secs automatically activates the rearscreen wiper at the continuous speed.The windscreen wash/wipe circuit is protected by a specific fuse and controlled by the ignition-operated exclusion relay (INT/A) located in the junction unit under the dashboard. The windscreen wiper and the windscreen washer can be activated with the TEG inserted and after starting (INT/A).

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION - REAR WINDOW WASH/WIPE - Alfa Romeo 159 2.4 JTD 20V Fino a 12/05

The electronic device inside the steering column switch unit H5 and the controls on the right lever receive a power supply at pin 11 of connector A from the ignition-controlled line (INT/A) of relay T12 protected by fuse F43, both housed in the junction unit under the dashboard B2.Pin 7 of connector A and 9 of connector C of H5 are earthed.The electronic device inside the steering column switch unit H5, which controls the rear wiper receive a power supply at pin 12 of connector C from the ignition-controlled line (INT/A) of relay T12 protected by fuse F52, both housed in the junction unit under the dashboard B2.Steering wheel stalk unit H5 sends a command to rear wiper motor N16 from pin 1 of connector B while pin 2 receives an earth signal from the motor end stop cam, which stops operation.Pin 3 of connector A of H5 receives the reverse engaged signal for automatic rear wiper operation.The steering column switch unit H5 windscreen washer switch, once activated, sends two signals from pins 10 and 12 of connector A which operate the windscreen washer pump N22 which turns sending the washer fluid to the windscreen wiper.
