DescriptionThe sunroof offers extra ventilation for the interior compartment and ensures a rapid air exchange, if required, thus increasing passenger comfort. The system is operated by a knob, located near the front courtesy light. The operating logic of the roof is controlled by a specific control unit which receives the signals from the control knob and roof operating motor.By turning the knob in the direction shown by the arrow, the roof slides open: you can choose between 5 available open positions; to close the roof, return the knob to the central position. The sunroof has a blind which slides manually; however, it is towed by the roof when the roof is opening; during closure, the blind comes out partially so that the grab handle is accessible. When the knob is turned in the opposite direction to that shown by the arrow, the rear part of the roof opens upwards: you can choose one of 3 available open positions; to close the roof, return the knob to the central position.Pressing the knob interrupts any movement (inhibition position). The roof's control electronics also has an anti-collision function: during roof closure, the movement is stopped and reversed by about 10 cm if - via a Hall-effect sensor located on the engine - an obstacle is detected. This function can be excluded - for safety reasons - by pressing the knob as described above.Movement is also disabled when the battery voltage is below 10 V. The roof is also automatically closed - if left open - via a specific prolonged command (over 4 seconds) sent by the remote control button, if the ignition is off; for more details 3023301SeeE3040CENTRAL LOCKING .
Functional description The sunroof control motor N35 is supplied at pin 7 by the line protected by fuse F63 of the fuse box B98 , via the direct line protected by fuse F2 of B1 .

Follow these precautions.769On batteries with an opticam hydrometer, electrolyte level and battery charge status can be monitored qualitativelyby examining the indicator colour: a light, bright colour indicates low electrolytelevel: top up with distilled water;a dark colour without a green area in thecentre indicates that the electrolyte level is correct but chargeis low: recharge the battery; a dark colour with a green area in themiddle indicates that both electrolyte level and charge status arecorrect: no action is necessary. For further details, see DESCRIPTION ANDOPERATION - 5580.768Proceed as follows.Check the battery voltage without loadusing the test device recommended by the Service outlets (e.g. 'MICRO360'). Depending on the voltage values measured, which define the state of charge of the battery, proceed as follows:If the voltage without load is less than12.10 V, replace the battery (see op.). 5530B10).If the voltage without load is over 12.10V but less than 12.50 V, recharge the battery (see op. 5530B14).If the voltage without load is over 12.50V, the battery is efficient. If necessary, top up the electrolyte asfollows.Carefully remove the cap strip.Top up with distilled and deionized water, taking care not to allow electrolyte to splash out.768
