DESCRIPTION - FOG LIGHTS - Fiat 500 1.2 8v

The vehicle is equipped with two additional fog lights, located in the front bumper.The fog lights are activated via the dedicated button on the dashboard controls unit; when the lights are on, the warning light in the instrument panel comes on.A relay in the engine compartment junction unit controls fog light activation via a line protected by a special fuse.The relay is managed by the Body Computer; the energizing of the relay is activated by:ignition MAR enablement signal (INT);side lights on signal;control signal from the button (single pressure)With only the side lights on, repeated presses of the dedicated button deactivate the fog lights.However, if the main beam headlights are on, the second press of the dedicated button does not deactivate the fog lights but activates the rear fog lights.Press the button a third time to deactivate the fog lights.767In this case the rear fog lights will also be deactivated.If the side lights are turned off, the fog lamps are automatically deactivated even if the associated button is still pressed. When the side lights are switched on again, the fog lights do not come on automatically, but only when the button is pressed again.If the key is switched off (STOP position) and then switched back to MAR, the relevant button must be activated again to turn on the fog lights.However, during start-up (INT/A), if the fog lights have been activated previously, they will temporarily be switched off; when the key is returned to the MAR (ON) position, the lights are activated again. Therefore it is not necessary to manually restore the command with the button as described above.

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION - FOG LIGHTS - Fiat 500 1.2 8v

The fog lights activation button, located on the switch controls unit H090, receives a reference earth from pin 37 of connector D of the Body Computer M001, and sends the function engagement signal to pin 45 of the same connector.Body Computer M001 receives power direct from the battery (pin 1 of connector A) protected by fuse F01 of engine compartment junction unit B001 (pin 18 of connector B); however, this is powered when the ignition is on (INT), to pin 11 of connector E.Body Computer M001 is powered when the ignition is on (INT/A) at pin 1 of connector E, excluding the fog lights system during start-up.Body Computer M001 is connected to the driver-side dashboard earth C015 via pins 9 and 10 of connector E.The side lights activation signal is sent to pin 51 of connector D of the M001 Body Computer from the H005 steering column switch unit.Body Computer M001 (pin 4 of connector B) controls fog light activation by sending an earth signal to the relay coil T14 of the engine compartment junction unit B001 (pin 54 of connector B). The coil of T14 is powered when the ignition is on by the line (15/54) protected by fuse F87 of B001.This earth signal excites relay T14: it supplies the left fog light F015 and the right fog light F016 via the line protected by fuse F30 of control unit B001 (pin 53 of connector B).The fog light clusters are connected to the left front earth C010.Body Computer M001 is connected, via the B-CAN line, from pins 18 and 20 of connector D, to instrument panel E050 (pins 5 and 6) to manage the fog lights warning light.
