The vehicle is fitted with two GAS DISCHARGE headlamps.The electronics in each of the two headlamps switches the gas discharge bulbs on and off at the times defined by the software and in accordance with international legislation.The system for each lamp comprises an igniter located at the base of the bulb and a ballast located in the lower part of the lamp.The left lamp is the master control unit whilst the right one carries out a slave role. The master acquires the command for the dipped headlamps, the vehicle speed and from the potentiometers located on the wheel axles.Depending on the inputs, the control unit controls the relevant adjustment motor, located in the headlamps, directly and tilts it as appropriate.For more details767On versions with gas discharge headlamps, the light beam is adjusted automatically and the two buttons in the middle of the dashboard, left hand side are not activated.768The device is enabled only with the dipped beams on.The electronics for the two headlamps receive a supply from a fuse which protects other ignition-controlled power supplies.

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION - HEADLAMP AGLINMENT CORRECTOR - Fiat BRAVO 1.9 JTD 16v

Both electronic systems inside the headlamps F10 (left) and F11 (right) are supplied - pin 6 - from the INT line of junction unit B2 protected by fuse F37.Pins 9 of the two control units are connected to one another by means of a special serial line, whilst the speedometer signal from the Body Computer M1 (pin 37 of connector B) reaches pin 5 of the junction unit located in headlamp F10.Pins 11 of the two headlamps are connected to the diagnostic K lineThe Body Computer M1 controls the supply for the dipped headlamps sending an earth signal to relay T1 in the junction unit under the dashboard B2 from pin 8 of interface connector F which energizes relay T1: this supplies the dipped headlamps - pin 1 - F10 (left) and F11 (right).Each circuit is protected by a fuse in the junction unit B2 : F13 for the left headlamp and F12 for the right.The headlamp alignment function is incorporated in headlamp F10: the two sensors (potentiometers) which measure the front alignment K1 and the rear alignment K2 are connected.The supply is sent to the sensors from pin 8 and the reference earth from pin 12, whilst pins 7 and 10 receives the return signals from sensors K1 and K2 respectively.On the basis of these signals, the headlamp electronics automatically adjust the light beam via a dedicated motor (the motor for the left headlamp is adjusted directly, whilst the right one is adjusted via the serial line between F10 and F11).
