Jaguar XJ8 1998 - IDENTIFICATION

CAUTION:

When a fuse/relay box lid is removed, take care to protect the fuse/relay box from moisture and reinstall lids as soon as possible.

Jaguar XJ8 1998 - ENGINE COMPARTMENT FUSE/RELAY LOCATIONS

Engine compartment and engine management fuse and relay boxes are located in the left front of the engine compartment. Wiper relays are located in front of engine compartment relay and fuse box. Windshield heater relays are located on the center of the bulkhead in the rear of the engine compartment. Additional relays are located in the right rear of the engine compartment in the control module enclosure. See Fig. 1 .

To remove the engine compartment relay and fuse box lid, press the retaining tabs while lifting. See Fig. 2 . When reinstalling the engine compartment relay and fuse box lid, reposition the lid and press in the area of the retaining tabs, ensuring that the retaining tabs fully engage. Jaguar XJ8 1998 - Engine Management Relay & Fuse Box

To remove the engine management relay and fuse box lid, compress and lift the "U" shaped latching mechanism. See Fig. 4 . When reinstalling engine management relay and fuse box lid, position the tabs opposite the latching mechanism into the appropriate slots and push down on the lid, ensuring that the latching mechanism is fully engaged. Jaguar XJ8 1998 - PASSENGER COMPARTMENT FUSE/RELAY LOCATIONS

Passenger compartment fuse and relay boxes are located on the left and right heelboards under rear seat. Additional relays are located under front seats. See Fig. 6 .

To remove the heelboard relay and fuse box trim panels, turn the fastener 90 degrees and pull the trim panel forwards. See Fig. 7 . When reinstalling heelboard relay and fuse box trim panels, insert the top of the trim panel under the rear seat pan and push the bottom of the trim panel until it is fully seated. Insert the fastener and turn 90 degrees to secure the trim panel. For left heelboard relay and fuse box fuse identification, see Fig. 8 . Jaguar XJ8 1998 - LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FUSE/RELAY BOX

Luggage compartment relay and fuse box is located to the right of the spare tire. Additional relays are located to the right front of the luggage compartment relay and fuse box. See Fig. 10 .

To remove the luggage compartment relay and fuse box lid, pull outward on the retaining clip and upwards on the lid. See Fig. 11 . When reinstalling luggage compartment relay and fuse box lid, reposition the lid and press in the area of the retaining tabs, ensuring that the retaining tabs fully engage.
