DESCRIPTION - MAIN BEAM HEADLAMPS - Fiat 500 1.3 Multijet

The vehicle is equipped with two main beam headlights located in the additional light units, which also include the daylight lights (D.R.L.) and side lights.The main beams are activated by operating the left steering wheel stalk:with the dipped beams on, by pushing the lever towards the dashboard (stable mode);in flashing mode, by pulling the lever toward the steering wheel (unstable mode).The main beam headlights command function is activated by enablement signals from the ignition switch with the key inserted and turned to MAR, and from the steering wheel interface control.The activation of the main beam headlights is managed by the Body Computer.A special relay in the engine compartment junction unit controls the activation of the main beams via two lines protected by a dedicated fuse.Activation/deactivation information is sent via the CAN: in this way, the main beam headlights warning light is activated in the instrument panel.If the main beam headlights were already activated during start-up (INT/A), they are temporarily excluded. When the key is next brought to the MAR position, the lights are activated once again.

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION - MAIN BEAM HEADLAMPS - Fiat 500 1.3 Multijet

Body Computer M001 receives a direct battery power supply (pin 1 of connector A) protected by fuse F01 in engine compartment junction unit B001 (pin 18 of connector B); it also receives an ignition-operated power supply (INT) at pin 11 of connector E.Body Computer M001 is also connected to driver-side dashboard earth C015 via pins 9 and 10 of connector E.The activation control for the main beam headlights via the left-hand lever on steering wheel interface H005, receives a reference earth at pin 2 of connector B of the steering wheel interface.Body Computer M001 (pin 36 of connector D) receives the main beam headlights activation command from steering wheel interface H005 (pin 5 of connector B).Body Computer M001 (pin 22 of connector B) controls the activation of the main beams by sending an earth signal to relay coil T02 in engine compartment junction unit B001 (pin 37 of connector B). The coil of T02 is supplied by an ignition-operated line (15/54) protected by fuse F87 of B001.This earth signal excites relay T02: this supplies additional headlights main beam headlights F069 (left) and F070 (right) (pin 4) via a line protected by fuse F14 in control unit B001 (pin 35 of connector B).Additional headlamps F069 and F070 are connected to left-hand front earth C010.Body Computer M001 receives an ignition-operated (INT/A) power supply that excludes the main beam headlights system during start-up, at pin 1 of connector E.Body Computer M001 is connected, via the B-CAN line, from pins 18 and 20 of connector D, to instrument panel E050 (pins 5 and 6) to manage the main beam headlights warning light.
