The front courtesy light includes two courtesy lights with two control switches.One selector turns on the left or right courtesy light while the other selector alters the courtesy light operation as follows:mode A: light permanently on;mode B: courtesy light (turns on/off by opening/closing one of the front doors);mode C: light always off.In "courtesy light" mode, the courtesy light activation/deactivation command comes from one of the front door switches housed in the door pillars.The system is controlled by the control panel that supplies power to the courtesy light and controls activation of a warning light on the instrument panel on the basis of earth signals from the above door switches.System power lines are protected by special fuses housed in the underfacia junction unit and engine bay.

Operational Description - COURTESY LIGHTS - Fiat DUCATO 2.8 JTD 8V fino a 02/05

Front courtesy light G010 is connected in series, at pin 1 and 3, to front door switches I016 and I017. The door switches are normally closed type. When the door is opened, the switch closes to supply earth connection C015 to the courtesy light and control panel H090 at pin 12 of connector D.The control panel supplies a power supply to courtesy light G010 - pin 2 - from pin 8 connector B. This power supply reaches door switches I016 and I017 - connector B - and instrument panel E050 - pin1 connector C - via a special node. When one of the doors is opened, the door switch earths the circuit, turning on the front courtesy light bulb and switching the positive signal on instrument panel E050 - pin 1 connector C - and control panel H090 - pin 12 connector D - to a negative signal. When the signal has been received, control panel H090 sends a positive signal to the instrument panel from pin 11 of connector D to activate the door open warning light.When the courtesy light selector is set to mode A, the bulbs are permanently connected directly to earth and thus always on. In mode C, the earth is no longer supplied and the courtesy light therefore never comes on.The power supply to the control panel comes directly from the battery and the line is protected by fuse F01, located in engine bay junction unit B001, and fuse F39, located in underfacia junction unit B002.
