Description - CRUISE CONTROL - Fiat DUCATO 2.8 JTD 8V fino a 02/05

The Cruise Control function - constant speed governor - allows the driver to drive the car at a constant speed without pressing the accelerator pedal.The function is managed by the engine control unit. This receives commands from a Cruise Control lever on the left of the steering wheel beneath the stalk switch unit.The function is engaged by turning the wheel (ON).When a speed is set ( SET + , SET - ), the setting is saved and may be called up at any time ( RCL ).The function is automatically deactivated:by pressing the brake pedal;by turning the wheel to OFF;by switching off the engine;In such cases, the last speed achieved is stored and can be recalled by pressing the RCL button.The system also deactivates at speeds below the minimum permitted speed (about 30 km/h).When the system is on, a warning light on the instrument panel comes on and is managed by the Cruise Control control unit.

Operational Description - CRUISE CONTROL - Fiat DUCATO 2.8 JTD 8V fino a 02/05

The Cruise Control activation command is issued by device H007, which communicates with engine management unit M010 from pins 3, 4, 7, 8 and with ABS control unit M060, from pins 11 and 12. Device H007 receives a signal from brake pedal switch I030 at pin 2; the same signal is also downloaded from engine management unit M010. This strategy is adopted to deactivate the Cruise Control system as soon as the brake pedal is pressed.Device H007 receives a left side light activated signal from control panel H090 - pin 12 connector C - at pin 5.The Cruise Control activation warning light is located in instrument panel E050. This smart warning light is ignition-operated - pin 12 connector D of E050 - and comes on when engine management unit M010 supplies an earth signal - pin 23 connector A-.The following fuses are located in under-facia junction unit B002.F24: side light activation supply protection;F27: ignition-operated supply protection for brake pedal switch I030;F37: ignition-operated protection for Cruise Control warning light, located in instrument panel E050
