Bir elektronik unite: giris sinyallerini degerlendirip daha onceden ayarlanmıs bir calısma mantıgına dayanarak sistemi yonetmekte ve kontrol etmektedir, unite elekrik motorunun yonunu ve besleme akımını belirlemekte ve boylece istenen direksiyon yardımı elde edilmektedir.On gogus uzerindeki kumanda grubunda bulunan buton ile CITY modeli kullanımına kumanda edilebilir.Elektrikli direksiyon tertibatının servo -yardım seviyesi degistirilebilir.Gosterge tablosu uzerinde 'elektrikli direksiyon sistemi arızaları' uyarı lambası bulunmaktadır. CITY fonksiyonun devreye girmesiyle birlikte gosterge paneli uzerindeki ilgili uyarı lambası yanar.Daha fazla bilgi icin .Sistemin unitesinin besleme hatları motor bolmesinde bulunan sigorta kutusu icersindeki maksisigortalar tarafından korunmaktadır. Unitenin kontaktan gecen besleme hatları motor bolmesindeki sigorta kutusu icersindeki bir ozel sigorta tarafından tarafından korunmaktadır.
Fonksiyonel tarifElektrikli direksiyon sisteminin unitesi M86 tum elektriki kumandaları kontrol etmektedir.Unitenin akuden gelen direkt beslemesi, motor bolmesindeki sigorta kutusu B1 'in icersindeki F2 sigortasının korudugu hat uzerinden unitenin M86 A soketinin A pinine ulasmaktadır. Unitenin M86 B pini saselenmistir. Kontaktan gecen besleme (15/54) ise motor bolmesindeki sigorta kutusu B1 'in F24 sigortası ile korunan hat uzerinden unitenin M86 A soketinin 1 nolu pinine ulasmaktadır.Unite M86 CAN sebekesine baglıdır- B soketinin 5 ve 6 nolu pinleri uzerinden diger unitelere ve ozellikle Body computere M1 ve gosterge tablosuna E50 , baglanır buradanda 'elektrikli direksiyon arızası ' uyarı lambasının yakılması icin sinyal gonderilmektedir.CITY kullanım fonksiyonunu (direksiyona tatbik edilen daha hafif guc) secmeye yarayan buton tunelin uzerindeki dugme grubunda H35 bulunmaktadır ve fonksiyonun devreye alınma sinyali uniteye M86 CAN sebekesi uzerinden ve Body computerin M1 D soketinin 19 nolu pininden ulasmaktadır.CITY kullanım fonksiyonu bilgisi CAN sebekesi uzerinden gosterge tablosuna E50 ulasır buradanda 'CITY' lambası yakılmaktadır.Otomatik test degerlerinin okunması Body computerin M1 , C soketine baglanarak gerceklestirilebilir - 9 nolu pinden : buraya ozel test hattı uzerinden ve unitenin M68 B soketinin 4 nolu pininden ve Body computerin M1 H soketinin 11 nolu pininden sinyaller ulasmaktadır.
