DESCRIPTION - HEATED SEATS - Alfa Romeo 159 1.9 JTD 16V Fino a 12/05
The front seats are available, on request, with a special heating system (comprising two heating elements located in the cushion and the backrest): this allows the seat to be heated to overcome the discomfort of cold passenger compartments in very harsh climates, e.g. when the car is left in the open for long periods in winter.The heating device located in each seat consists of two resistors activated by a controls located on the outside of each seat: there is a ring nut through which the function is switched on/off and the heating is adjusted to 3 different settings (0 = seat heating switched off).Once a certain temperature has been reached the heating stops automatically thanks to a thermal contact inside the actual device.A special LED in the actual switches indicates that the resistances are switched on.The seat heating can only be activated with the ignition on (INT/A).The seat heating circuit is controlled by a special relay and protected by two specific fuses located in the fuse box in the boot.
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION - HEATED SEATS - Alfa Romeo 159 1.9 JTD 16V Fino a 12/05
The seat heating power supply arrives via the relay T21 located in the fuse box in the boot B45; this is energized by the ignition-controlled line (INT/A) which arrives directly from the steering lock node M89; fuses F57 and F67, located in B45, protect the supply circuit for the two seats: the power supply for the two heaters O40 and O41 takes place via the control units M170 and M110 which receive commands from the switches I65 and I66.The switches are lit up with the ignition on (INT) by the line for fuse F49 of the junction unit under the dashboard B2.
