DESCRIPTION - FOG LIGHTS - Alfa Romeo 159 1.9 JTD 8V Fino a 12/05
The vehicle is equipped with two additional fog lights, located in the front bumper.The fog lights are activated via the special button in the controls to the left of the steering wheel; when the lights are on, the warning light in the instrument panel comes on.A relay located in the engine bay control unit controls fog lamp activation via a line protected by a fuse.The relay is managed by the Body Computer; the energizing of the relay is activated by:- the TEG inserted enablement signal (INT);- a control signal coming from the switch;- the side lights on signal.If the side lights are turned off, the fog lamps are deactivated even if the operating button is still pressed. When the side lights are switched on again, the fog lights do not come on automatically, but only when the button is pressed again.If the TEG is switched off (OFF position) and then switched back on (MAR), the button must be activated again to turn on the fog lights.
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION - FOG LIGHTS - Alfa Romeo 159 1.9 JTD 8V Fino a 12/05
The (earth) activation signal for the fog lights reaches pin 1 of connector I of M1 from the control button in the panel to the left of the steering wheel H90.The side lights activation signal is sent to pin 28 of connector G and 2 of connector I of the Body Computer M1 from the steering column switch unit H5.The Body Computer M1 controls the power supply for the fog lights sending an earth signal to the relay T14: of the engine compartment junction unit B1 - from pin 8 of connector A of M1 - which energizes relay T14: this supplies the fog lights F15 (left) and F16 (right). The circuit is protected by fuse F30 of junction unit B2.The Body Computer M1 is connected via the CAN line to the instrument panel E50 to manage the "fog lights on" warning light.
