DESCRIPTION - HEADLAMP AGLINMENT CORRECTOR - Alfa Romeo 159 1.9 JTD 8V Fino a 12/05
The vehicle is fitted with two GAS DISCHARGE headlamps.The electronics in each of the two headlamps switches the gas discharge bulbs on and off at the times defined by the software and in accordance with international legislation.The system for each lamp comprises an igniter located at the base of the bulb and a ballast located in the lower part of the lamp.The left lamp is the master control unit whilst the right one carries out a slave role. The master acquires the command for the dipped headlamps, the vehicle speed and from the potentiometers located on the wheel axles.Depending on the inputs, the control unit controls the relevant adjustment motor, located in the headlamps, directly and tilts it as appropriate.For more details
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION - HEADLAMP AGLINMENT CORRECTOR - Alfa Romeo 159 1.9 JTD 8V Fino a 12/05
Both electronic systems inside the headlamps F10 (left) and F11 (right) are supplied - pin 9 - from the INT line of junction unit B2 protected by fuse F37.Pins 12 of the two control units are connected to one another by means of a special serial line, whilst the speedometer signal from the Body Computer M1 (pin 28 of connector B) reaches pin 10 of the junction unit located in headlamp F10.Pins 11 of the two headlamps are connected to the diagnostic K lineThe Body Computer M1 controls the supply for the dipped headlamps sending an earth signal to relay T1 in the junction unit under the dashboard B2 from pin 8 of connector F of M1 which energizes relay T1: this supplies the dipped headlamps F10 (left) and F11 (right). Each circuit is protected by a fuse in the junction unit B2 : F13 for the left headlamp and F12 for the right.The headlamp alignment function, managed by the connection F10B, is incorporated in the headlamp F10: the two sensors (potentiometers) that measure the geometry at the front K1 and at the rear K2 are connected; on the basis of these signals, the headlamp electronics automatically adjust the light beam by means of a special motor (the motor for the left headlamp is regulated directly, whilst the one for the right headlamp is adjusted via the serial line between F10 and F11).
