The radio may be equipped with a radio as an option. The system consists of the following parts:- radio (CD/tape player);- radio supply leads;- two front speakers located on the doors and two on the facia;- two rear speakers;- cables connecting the radio with the speakers;- aerial;- coaxial aerial lead. The radio system is equipped with a communication protocol with an electronic unit that manages the electrical system (body computer). When the radio is supplied, the body computer reads the radio code and determines whether to activate it or not.The radio circuit is supplied with the key ON and via a direct supply from the battery (which allows tuning, safety codes, etc. to be stored). The two supply lines are protected by three circuits of which two in the under-dashboard junction unit and a third in the junction unit in the engine compartment.
Operation of the radio system P20 is controlled by the body computer by lines leaving pins 5 and 17 connector E of junction unit B02 and entering pins 1 and 3 connector A of radio P20.The radio is supplied directly (pin 7 connector A) from the battery via the line of fuse F1 contained in engine compartment junction unit B01 and protected by fuse F39 of under-dashboard junction unit B02.Radio P20 receives an ignition-operated power supply (INT) (pin 4 connector a ) via the line of fuse F49 of under-dashboard junction unit B02.Radio P20 receives at pin 6 of connector A a power supply with side lights on for interior lighting via a line controlled by body computer M01 and protected by fuse F51 of junction unit B02.Cables carrying signals for the speakers leave connector B:- right front side on dashboard P38 and door P36 from pins 3 and 4 via short-circuiting junction D97 D;- left front side on dashboard P37 and door P35 from pins 5 and 6 via short-circuiting junction D97 B;- right rear P31 from pins 1 and 2;- left rear P30 from pins 7 and 8;Pin 5 connector A is connected to aerial amplifier P25 while pin 8 connector A is connected to earth.Speaker P38 assumes a dual coil configuration when mobile phone wiring is installed. The body computer is supplied via pin 11 connector E (ignition-operated power supply) and pin A connector C (direct power supply) of junction unit B02. Fuse F1 in junction unit B01 protects the direct power supply.Pins 8 and 9 of connector D of the body computer are earthed.
