DescriptionThe brake lights are located at the rear in the side lights and in the central third brake light and consist of 10 separate bulbs.All three bulbs are operated whenever the brake pedal is pressed, by means of a switch on the pedal itself.The circuit is supplied with the ignition switched ON and is protected by a fuse, in the junction unit.767the switch fitted on the pedal assembly consists of two contacts which supply two signals: the first which is the 'N.A.' type recognizes the position of the brake pedal when it differs from the rest position; the second, which is the 'N.C.' type, recognizes the brake pedal in the rest position. The information for the N.A. switch is used by the brake lights and is also sent to the ABS which recognizes this situation and implements a braking control as a result 2889551SeeE7020ABS . The information for the N.C. switch is only used by the ABS with ESP 2889563SeeE7023ESP .
Functional description The switch I30 with the N.A. contact is supplied when the ignition is switched on (INT) from the line protected by the fuse F1 for the junction unit B1. When the brake pedal is pressed, the switch closes and sends the supply to the side brake lights in the rear light clusters F30 and F31 and to the centre rear light F40 .
