The electric windows in the rear doors are activated using the switches in the actual doors and the driver''s front door.The luggage compartment junction unit checks the operation of the rear electric window motors directly.The commands from the driver''s front door are transmitted via the CAN from the control unit in the door.The electric window motors are operated either manually or automatically, depending on the trim level.Automatic operation takes place as follows:- if the button is pressed is between 60 and 300 milliseconds, operation is manual. the glass goes up/down only with the key pressed;- f the key is pressed for longer than 300 milliseconds, operation is automatic: even if the button is released, the glass continues to move up/down until the end of travel position is reached or until the intervention of the anti-crush safety system (if fitted);- pressing the button again whilst the window is moving stops it in the position it is in;- if the button is pressed for less than 60 milliseconds, this is ignored (it is treated as an accidental knock).The luggage compartment junction unit also manages the anti-crush safety function: it acquires information concerning the possible presence of an obstacle whilst the glass is closing (upwards movement): a resistive sensor is inserted in an outer casing fitted to the upper seal which is compressed if there is an obstacle preventing the window from closing properly: under these circumstances the control unit immediately interrupts the travel of the window and reverses it to the lower end of travel position.The correct operation of the anti-crush sensor is controlled by the control unit check function: in the case of a failure this information is sent via the CAN to the instrument panel to show the information on the display.In addition, if a fault is detected, the control unit inhibits the automatic raising operation only allowing it in steps of 500ms each time the button is pressed.The circuit is operated according to the luggage compartment junction unit control logic with a power supply protected by two special fuses operated by the underdashboard junction unit services relay: there is a power supply both with the TEG inserted (ON) and not inserted (OFF); during the starting stage this relay is temporarily deactivated whilst with the TEG not inserted (OFF) the Body Computer keeps the relay activated for 3 minutes but deactivates it 30 seconds after one of the doors is opened.The driver''s front door control unit also manages the locking of the rear controls (protection) when the special LOCK button is pressed: the locking status is indicated by an LED in the back of the actual button lighting up and the rear control buttons are not lit up. The electric windows cannot be operated using any of the buttons when the lock function is activated.The windows are automatically opened or closed through the special prolonged (more than 2 seconds) command sent by the TEG remote control button.
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION - ELECTRIC REAR WINDOWS - Alfa Romeo 159 2.4 JTD 20V Fino a 12/05
The services relay T13, located in the junction unit under the dashboard B2, supplies the luggage compartment junction unit (which manages the rear electric windows) M63 pin A8 of connector A and pin B8 of connector B, with the logic described above and controlled by the Body Computer M1 pin 14 of connector F, via two lines protected by fuses F33 and F34 of B2.Pins B1 and C8 of connector A and pin A1 of connector B of M63 are earthed.The junction unit is connected via the CAN line to the driver''s front door control unit M66.The unit H44 also incorporates the controls for the rear windows and the LOCK button: special analogue signals are sent to pins 27 of connector B and 1 and 3 of connector C of M66 (pin 33 of connector A provides the reference earth).With the LOCK button pressed the control unit M66 relays the signal for switching on the relevant LED in H44 (from pin 7 of connector C); the control unit M66 then transmits these signals to control unit M63 via the CAN.Similarly, the controls at the rear doors H53 and H54 send dedicated analogue signals to the control unit M63 to pins B5 of connectors A and B.The control unit M63 operates the motors N65 (left) - from pins A1 and C1 of connector A and N66 (right) - from pins A8 and C8 of connector B.The signals for the anti-crush sensors K19 and K24 reach pins A5 and B3 of connector A of M63 and pins A4 and A6 of connector B of M63.The control units M63 is also connected via the CAN line to the Body Computer M1 and to the instrument panel E50 to manage the signal if there is a failure in the anti-crush safety sensors.
