Operational Description - AIRBAG - Fiat ULYSSE 2.2 16V JTD fino a 04/03

Control unit M060 receives ignition-operated power at pin 47 from body computer node M001 from pin 14 connector F.The control unit M060 communicates, via the CAN, from pins 30, 33, with the body computer node M001, pin 30, 28 connector L; it receives a supply, via the CAN (pin 37), from the line protected by fuse F16, located in the body computer node M001.Pin 34 is connected to the dedicated earth C050.When, according to the control logic, a front impact is detected, the control unit sends signals for the intervention of the front modules and the pretensioners.Driver side air bag module Q009 is connected to steering wheel node M093 that is connected to control unit M060 at pins 1, 2, 20, 21 from pins 1 and 2 of connector B and C.The steering wheel node M093 communicates, via the CAN, with the body computer node, at pins 38, 40 connector L. In addition, node M093 receives a supply (pin 5 connector A) from the line protected by fuse F11, located in the body computer node M001; it also receives a supply via the CAN (pin 6 connector A) from the line protected by fuse F16, located in the body computer node M001.The Air Bag is connected to the dashboard on the driver''s side Q011 at pins 3, 4, 18, 19.The air bag module on the passenger side facia Q011 is disabled by switch H075 connected to the control unit at pins 49, 50.The control unit M060 is connected to front and rear driver side pretensioners Q020 and Q022 via pins 13, 14. The control unit is connected to front and rear passenger pretensioners Q021 and Q023 from pins 22, 23.The side impact detection sensors K066 (driver''s side) and K067 (passenger side) send signals to pins 1209 and 5-8 of the control unit M060, respectively.When, according to the control logic, a side impact is detected, the control unit sends signals for the intervention of the side modules.Pins 6,7 are connected to the side Air Bag Q031 and to the passenger side Window Bag Q041; pins 11, 10 are connected to the side Air Bag Q030 and to the driver''s Window Bag Q040.Switches I046 and I047 inform body computer node M001 that the front seat belts are properly fastened at pins 37, 39 connector L.The lighting up of the three Air Bag warning lights (Air Bag failure, passenger Air Bag disabled and seat belt not fastened) is managed by the milometer warning lights node M140 which communicates with the instrument panel E050 and the body computer node M001, via the CAN.The instrument panel E050 and the milometer warning lights node M140 receive a supply via the CAN (pin 13 of E50 and pin 4 of M140) through the line protected by fuse F24 of the body computer M001.

The electronic automatic transmission has four forward speeds plus reverse with self-adapting management (i.e. it is capable of adapting to the driving style of the driver) depending on vehicle load and road conditions.The display can show the following:in automatic driving mode, the gear selected (P, R, N or D);in sequential driving mode, the (manual) engagement of a higher or lower gear by means of an up or down arrow, respectively.In sequential driving mode, each gear change is shown on the display; any possibility of errors is excluded by the continuous check by the management control unit which only allows a lower gear to be engaged if the engine revs permit.In sequential driving mode, the electronic automatic transmission works like a fixed ratio gearbox controlled in sequence. The electronic control intervenes by altering the ratios when the engine speed goes above or below the permitted rpm limit.Moving the lever from P to D, N to D or R to D should only be done with the vehicle stationary, the engine idling and the brake pedal fully depressed (shift-lock).The engine cannot be started with the lever in position R.The engine can only be started with the lever in P or NThe lever can only be moved from position P, with the ignition in position M, with the brake pedal fully depressed (shift-lock).A failure with the electronic automatic transmission is signalled by the flashing of the milometer warning lights node; in this case, the gearbox stabilizes itself automatically in third gear.767driving where there is snow or ice: when the road holding conditions are poor (snow, ice, etc.) and the special button next to the gear lever is pressed, the display will light up and the vehicle will pull away in second gear.
