DescriptionThe vehicle may be equipped with a tow hook with type approval for trailers, caravans, or towing in general. This device should conform with the laws in force and should be fitted following the instructions enclosed in the fitting kit. This fitting kit, in addition to the hook itself, also includes an electronic control unit for the operation of the trailer exterior lights as well as specific wiring for connecting the actual control unit with the rear lights of the vehicle and with a specific connection ( D73) located in the luggage compartment on the left hand side.23If a trailer is connected, the operation of the parking sensors is automatically inhibited. The trailer control unit is supplied via the protected circuit by a special fuse in the junction unit under the dashboard.
Functional description The connection for the vehicle for connecting the trailer D73 receives a direct supply, at pin 1, from the line protected by fuse F36 of junction unit B2 . An inhibition (earth) signal, on the other hand, is sent via pin 2 to pin 5 of the parking sensors control unit M84 SeeE3090 PARKING SENSOR , which disables the operation of this system when a trailer is connected.
