DescriptionThe module in the centre of the dashboardincludes the:fuel gauge, with reserve warning lightengine coolant temperature gauge, with maximum temperaturewarning lightanalogue clock.The fuel level is displayed via electroniccircuitry inside the module, which operates the gauge and the reservewarning light (about 7 litres) and "dampens" the signalpreventing fluctuations.During starting, when the ignition is turnedon, the warning light comes on for about 4 seconds as a self-test,then goes out. If it flashes and stays on, a fault has been detectedin the connection or the level gauge.The coolant temperature gauge is controlleddirectly by a sensor on the engine. The maximum temperature warninglight is controlled by a sensor on the engine with another signal,independent of the gauge, or by the engine control unit.During starting, when the ignition is turnedon, the maximum temperature warning light comes on for about 4 secondsas a self-test, then goes out.The analogue clock consists of a face withhour and minute hands. It is electronic with a quartz oscillator.It is adjusted by means of a button inside the dial.The centre instrument operates when theignition is switched ON. Functional description The supply for the centre module E20 arrivesdirectly from the battery. (maxifuse J/B1 of B5 ) topin 2 via fuse F10 of the junction unit B1 ; the supply controlledby the ignition (INT) reaches pin 1 of the line protected by fuse B11 . Pin 3 is earthed.

Follow these precautions.769On batteries with an opticam hydrometer,electrolyte level and battery charge status can be monitored qualitativelyby examining the indicator colour:a light, bright colour indicates low electrolytelevel: top up with distilled water;a dark colour without a green area in thecentre indicates that the electrolyte level is correct but chargeis low: recharge the battery;a dark colour with a green area in themiddle indicates that both electrolyte level and charge status arecorrect: no action is necessary. If the voltage without load is over 12.10V but less than 12.50 V, recharge the battery ( 32384305530B14battery - recharge ).
