DescriptionThe rear door electrically-operated windows can be operated by switches on the front driver's door or switches located on each of the rear doors.Operation of the rear electrically-operated windows is manual (the window is raised/lowered only when the switch is pressed). For safety reasons, a special lock switch on the driver's door cuts off power to all switches to prevent accidental activation from the rear seats, e.g. when children are present. The seat heating circuit is protected by a special fuse and is controlled by a relay which supplies other services controlled by the ignition. The fuse is located on the fuse and relay box located in the luggage compartment, while the relay is located in the junction unit. The rear electrically-operated windows will work only when the key is turned to MAR.The control switch symbols are lit when the key is turned to MAR.
Functional description The control unit M82 manages the operation of the electric rear windows. The direct supply for the control unit M82 comes in through special fuse B17 . The ignition-dependent supply (INT/A) reaches pin 4 of connector B of relay R1 , from the line protected by fuse F9 , both contained in the junction unit B1 . The ignition-dependent supply (INT/A) of the line protected by fuse F5 of the junction unit B1 supplies the electric window control unit on the driver's door H44 and the switches H53 and H54 (on rear right and rear left doors respectively). Pins 3 of connector B and 1 of connector E supply the earth, C31 . When the switches are operated, they send command signals (positive and negative) to the rear electric windows control unit M82 , but only if the safety switch in unit H44 is set to enabled posiion. If it is not, it cuts off the supply to both the switches on the driver's door and the switches on the rear doors. With the safety switch in the enablement position, the switches are illuminated when the ignition is on (MAR). The block switch is also illuminated when the ignition is on, by a specific LED supplied by the line protected by fuse F5 of junction unit B1 : The above signals arrive:at pins 3 and 4 of connector A from switch H53 or from the switch H44 , to control the left electric windowat pins 1 and 2 of connector C from switch H54 , to control the right electric windowat pins 5 and 6 of connector A from switch H44 , to control the right electric window. The control unit M82 controls the electric windows as described above:from pins 1 and 2 of connector D it sends commands to the rear left motor N65 ;from pins 3 and 4 of connector D it sends commands to the rear right motor N66 .When the positive and negative signals are reversed, the motor direction of rotation is also reversed.
